Glitching right out of the box

I just bought the Maxx yesterday and it is glitching. I've tried 2 brand new batteries, calibrated the ESC, re-linked the radio, made sure it was in full power mode and still nothing. Could it be the motor, ESC or the TSM faulty? See video. Anyone have any ideas?

What kind of batteries are you using? The maxx only runs 3s and 4s.

Faulty ESC. Call traxxas for a replacement.

Maxx is known to have esc issues right out of the box. I have two purchased them a month apart. Both had bad esc’s out of the box. Both covered under warranty so traxxas did replace them, but there’s a 2 week turnaround to send them in and get them back. When I sent my first one in a picked up a used Sidewinder 8th and installed that so I could use it. Then put it in my second one after I bought it. Been running it for 2 months now with no problems. And I still have the new traxxas esc as a replacement.

Call traxxas tell them the issues and they’ll make it right. If you argue the point you might get them to send you a replacement before you send in yours. That’s what I did with my second one and it took only a week.

I watched the video multiple times. Without knowing the throttle position, it is difficult to tell whether that is “glitching” or the normal stuttering of a sensorless motor system. They are not always smooth with low throttle inputs.
Are you comparing this behavior to another model?

    Hiya

Sometimes these need the throttle endpoints resetting from new
