overheated and blew a motor today and have to order one, interested in all cooling options for the motor and gearing tips (spur-pinion)
Your driving style is the biggest single factor in how hot or cool your motor gets. I've only ever run 4S packs in mine. But I ran three 5200mah packs back to back in 90 degree, sunny weather, and still only saw 160F from the motor, and 105F from the ESC.
So my guess is you're running 6S. If you're doing a lot of full throttle running on 6S, I'd be surprised if fans will help much. The same may be true about gearing.
So to help us answer the question, a bit of info on how you drive such as:
Which batteries are you running?
How many batteries do you usually run?
Do you let the truck cool down between batteries?
How much of your runtime is spent at full throttle?
If we know those things, maybe some of the 6S guys can chime in with results they've had.
Hello, I drive in 6S, here is the modification I made for the engine cooling
