LED Light Bar Powered via the Receiver

Hi

I'm running the stock Traxxas receiver with a Traxxas BEC (2262 kit)on my TRX4 Defender. I recently fitted an Abisma light bar, which came with a 3 pin JR (servo type) plug, which instructions advised to plug into the receiver.

The connections are all good, but the brights are not very bright - is there something I should have done differently?

I'm not sure what voltage your light bar is rated for, maybe higher than 6v. That would cause them to be dim. Your only getting 6v with the Traxxas setup.

The lights are actually 4 spot lamps, in a bar. I've been unable to determine the voltage, but other Abisma stuff that includes a voltage in the spec is 4-6 volts.

The BEC has, of course, only one socket, which the ESC is plugged into - I assume that it's not the done thing to add to that socket?

I'd normally have thought I could have used a Y cable from the JS power outlet, but the light kit has three connectors....
