Temp sensor question

Hello all,

I recently picked up a used x maxx. I'm thinking about upgrading to a different radio and receiver. Does the temp sensor that's wired into the stock RX actually stop the vehicle if it gets too hot, or is it just for telemetry purposes? I guess I'm just wondering if I would lose a safety feature by using a different radio and receiver.

I'm not sure, if you have a completely stock Xmaxx. I use a stock Traxxas Tx and Rx along with a after market motor and ESC, and my motor temp sensor just tells me my motor temperature.

Hi the temp sender with the Traxxas radio causes the car to go into 50% power if it thinks its too hot.
With another brand of radio this function will not work.
