    What LEDs does Traxxas use?

Does anybody know what type of lights Traxxas uses on their light kits? The 8028 power supply runs off of only 3volts, and the lights are brighter than the 12v LEDs I can find.

The light bars from Proline run off of 12V, and I have a spare 8028 power supply for another rig. Traxxas lights are pretty expensive, and I would like to make my own.

    Thanks.

No idea what brand of LEDs they use, but they are impressive for the voltage.

Unless it is something that came installed, I normally roll my own for LEDs. I use Common Sense LEDs, I get them in both 3mm and 5mm. They come pre-wired with a load resistor, and have very wide operational range (4 - 12VDC).

They seem reasonably priced for the functions they have, but are they any good at low voltages? Or are they still useable at say, 5v?

I can rig up a test and see what the difference in the voltages would be. Normally, I run at either 7.4VDC or 6VDC, and have not noticed a difference in brightness.
