X maxx super slow after app update Help!!

I recently got a new phone and got the traxxas app and linked it to my xmaxx. To link it it said i needed some kind of update or something after it completed the process 2 of 2 it got noticeably a lot slower and less torque. I did not change any gears or anything this happened in right after the update. Please help.

Go to drive effects and mathe sure throttle at max which I think I 120%

I went and tried doing what craxyxmaxx said and the speed is still much slower than before. Please help if anyone has any other ideas

Did you do a reset of controls. not sure where it's at in the link app.

Guessing batteries all charged up?

Otherwise give Traxxas a call. As I don't think I've seen this issue

Just a shot in the dark, once in the app, go to model selection, pick a different model maybe rustler 4 x 4.

Select as that model, close app turn everything off. Restart everything, re-select X maxx 8S, Again close app shut down everything restart.

Sometimes this will fix things. It gets stuck on stupid.

I would try giving this a shot also. The Xmaxx has a temperature sensor on the motor that if bad,unplugged,etc can cause the truck to go slow.

Yes, agreed. Also to that effect, when you try it in a different selected model see if you have full power there. If so, that could very well point to the temperature sensor wire somehow being at fault.

If you can, try another Tx/Rx

It's something software wise if this happened only after a software update.

Call Traxxas let them help you.


Make sure not in training mode on esc. Perhaps go into training mode then back to regular. (See what difference it makes)

Make sure batteries are full.

Try your other tx. From your rustler Rebind rx tx. U should be able to bind both cars to both tx, so it doesn't matter what tx you grab for a car.

Otherwise a rx/tx hard reset.

I contacted traxxas and after a long talk and couple procedures of resetting it's still slow. They asked me to ship the esc and motor to them dock might be doing that in a few days
