    GTR Shocks on SLASH VXL

I installed GTR Shocks with VG Racing springs on my sons SLASH VXL. What other springs are people running on their SLASH’s for bashing? This setup seems really stiff for a SLASH.

Losi TEN SCTE springs are great! I was using black in the front and silver in the rear.

Yep, TLR Ten SCTE springs are great! Since I am running the rear shocks on the front, I also use the rear springs on the front. Amain has most of them in stock: https://www.amainhobbies.com/search?s=ten+scte+springs
Everyday's a gift, thus now is called the present.

The VG Racing springs are heavy duty (for use with their heavy/steel cage).

Slash 2wd or 4x4? I have them on my pretty much stock 4x4 w/GTR shocks and they perform as I want. Too stiff for 2wd though.

I loved my GTR shocks with VG Racing springs and Revo variable damping kit for my Slash 4x4s. Mine were heavy due to 1/8th system and 6500 3S LiPos.

    Have fun!

I run a similar setup on my extended stampede. Pretty sure I drilled the holes out on the VDK pistons though to 1/16" and I use 70wt in them with the VG springs. I also put dubro monster ball ends on the front shock so it sat more level. I shaved the ball part off where the shock shaft goes in so it's flat, but it added 2-3mm to the shock length. Not so much though that the shocks bottom out before the chassis does. It's worked well for me so far.

    Associated 70wt front rear
    VG Springs/GTR Shocks VDK 1/16"

I've changed the arms since then to the traxxas heavy duty "winter" arms. The RPM's were too soft and flexed a lot, then eventually just stayed bowed all the time.

    Mine was close to yours:

Team Associated 80wt front and rear.
VG Springs/Revo VDK 1/16" (all 4 holes w/ valve on top).
