Best rechargeable AA batteries for the traxxas tqi 4 channel 2.4 ghz radio (6530R)

Hello,
I am looking for suggestions for buget friendly rechargeable AA batteries for the traxxas tqi 4 channel 2.4 ghz radio (6530R). My usage will be few hours on the weekend and i am looking for batteries that are decent enough and not expensive.

Also what is most important things to consider while shopping for rechargeable battery..?
Any ideas or suggestions will be very helpful

Keep in mind that AA rechargeable batteries are 1.2v per cell vs alkaline's 1.5v/cell so you'll be getting a constant voltage of 4.8v total. There may be the option of a 5-cell rechargeable pack that you could install to get the 6.0v to the transmitter.

With the old 27mhz systems using eight batteries in the transmitter I had to change them out often - sometimes once or twice a year. Now that I run the 2.4 TQ systems I've gone at least a couple years on the same set of four AA batteries.

My recommendation? Stick to decent alkaline AA batteries and they will last you a long time.

Wow! A couple of years!

I get maybe a good month or two. The problem I always have is that I'll forget to turn off my transmitter. I will swear that I turned it off but the next day when I go to drive my car it's as if it was turned on by somebody else. Am I the only person that experiences this? I'm not usually forgetful but boy those remotes always slip my mind.

I'm using Amazon basic rechargeable batteries but I think you can use any. Fully charged they have 1.36V which results initial 5.4V . Works fine for me and lasts over 10 hours run time with one charge.

They are low self discharge (LSD) cells, so they hold a charge longer between charges. I'd typically charge them using my old MRC 959 via a jack I'd install in the transmitter, if it didn't have one. I'd charge them the night before and top them off before I went out. About once a year I'd drain them fully, let them rest and charge them back up. They would usually last 2-3 years.

I recently ditched them and put in a 2S lipo in my spektrum DX5C. Not sure why... just felt like tinkering. I wired it so I could balance charge externally with an adapter I made to a 25W 2S-3S charger. It should be too many V, but so far, it's worked great.

That's exactly what I did over 2 years ago, put a 2s lipo in my tx and have never had any issues. I'm still on the same battery and charge about every 5 runs, for $10.00 it was pretty hard to pass up.

Because regular NiMh AA batteries are working fine as-well.

I use the Duracell optimum batteries. They seem to last as long as a battery should i would think.

The 4 cell tray in the DX5C comes out with 2 screws.
