I came this close today and cant even begin to imagine how you would remove it if you stripped it

Could drill the head off

A set of small diameter screw extractors are always in my tool box.
You can get them at most hardware stores.

Cut the cheap stuff off first.
How can you drill off a head that is recessed 2 inches deep?
Not sure howd you'd cut off the chassis to remove thst screw if thats what you mean
I guess I'm just complaining about the poor design of such an important screw being so recessed. There are no screws like that on any of my other traxxas cars
Then use quality tools, the proper size hex and don't strip the screw. I don't own an X-Maxx and I'll assume it is screwed into plastic. The only time(s) I've stripped screws threaded into plastic is when there is limited access which resorts to using the driver at an angle or one with a ball-end.

In the composite materials like the X-Maxx chassis, never tighten the screws with excessive torque.
VarunaX, you can use a set like these in the link to took off this screw, there are a variety of measures.

Before drilling the head of a screw that is in plastic - try using a left handed drill bit. I have found these will bite into the screw head and backout the screw. Worst case is you use it to drill the head off, but I would expect it would back out.
Yeah, screw extractors are made specifically for this reason. You can find them on Amazon for decently cheap. The one below would work.

The present is theirs; the future, is mine.
