Looking to get my slash running again.

Will this set up work for my slash and what else would I need if anything to put it in and working?

Also, if you use traxxas batteries you might have to install new connectors. Cause i dont know if those come with one at all.

I am also thinking of a new combo for my Slash 4x4. Since I got it as a used roller a couple of months back, I am just using the old brushed combo from my Slash 2wd (which has the Castle SW4 3800kv). This time, though I think I am going to get a Hobbywing XR8 3600kv.

Also, Hobbywing ESCs usually don't come with connectors. If they do, it will be XT60 connectors (example: 1080 ESC).
Everyday's a gift, thus now is called the present.

Yeah for sure. I think that's the best way to do it. Im not sure how else you would make it waterproof. It probably wouldn't hurt to put a dab of silicone or hot glue so the wraps don't leak.

Just got this same motor except with the max8 esc which I had the option for traxxas connectors so I wouldnít have to change all my batteries
Havenít put in yet, Iím waiting on the rustler receiver box (to move it up front)
Iím thinking itís the same thing as fitting the castle system in my other 4x4

This is my firs rc car still very new to hobby had to fix a few things here and there turnbuckles and control arms plastic stuff that breaks from bashing. I miss running itís been down all summer hopping to have it for the winter and lost of snow!! I have the traxxas nicl battery but a lectron pro 2s 7.4V 5200mAh 35C Not sure if it will work with the hobbywing set up or how well itís going to work so I was just gonna get the batteries I need. If your saying there no connector at all for battery?

Where did you buy it where they gave you an option to put on the connectors before hand?

I knew that I had it somewhere

    https://www.aliexpress.com/snapshot/...=4000221187086

Iím sorry the link doesnít take you straight there

Just search 2200kv combo and it will give you the option for a T plug or trx plug

JTin: Just remember that the Slash 4x4 (brushed) has different diff gears than the Slash 4x4 VXL (brushless) and you will have to gear up your pinion and spur to compensate (or change your front and rear diffs).

Brushed diff is 12/47 (3.91 gear ratio).
Brushless diff is 13/37 (2.85 gear ratio).

Won't it be slow on lower voltages (2s/maybe 3s)? Or is 2200kv 'fast' enough?
It sure looks like a great deal, especialy compared to the stock VXL-3s, wich is more expensive than this, and probably runs wayyyy hotter.

The 2200kv is not designed for 2s, 3s is ok but not perfect, 4s is the sweet spot and really makes that thing come alive

It can work, I'm assuming the motor has larger bullets? Could change them. But it would be best to get a larger esc. Like the max8
