I blew the stock brush motor in my slash 4x4! I’m looking to upgrade now to brushless been checking out hobbywing and wanted to know.
Will this set up work for my slash and what else would I need if anything to put it in and working?

It should serve you well

Also, if you use traxxas batteries you might have to install new connectors. Cause i dont know if those come with one at all.

I’ll be getting new batteries. I didn’t think about it but I’ll just try to find the ones with that connection. Thanks!

I am also thinking of a new combo for my Slash 4x4. Since I got it as a used roller a couple of months back, I am just using the old brushed combo from my Slash 2wd (which has the Castle SW4 3800kv). This time, though I think I am going to get a Hobbywing XR8 3600kv.
Also, Hobbywing ESCs usually don't come with connectors. If they do, it will be XT60 connectors (example: 1080 ESC).
Everyday's a gift, thus now is called the present.
Couldn’t I just solder and sink wrap connections

Just got this same motor except with the max8 esc which I had the option for traxxas connectors so I wouldn’t have to change all my batteries
Haven’t put in yet, I’m waiting on the rustler receiver box (to move it up front)
I’m thinking it’s the same thing as fitting the castle system in my other 4x4
This is my firs rc car still very new to hobby had to fix a few things here and there turnbuckles and control arms plastic stuff that breaks from bashing. I miss running it’s been down all summer hopping to have it for the winter and lost of snow!! I have the traxxas nicl battery but a lectron pro 2s 7.4V 5200mAh 35C Not sure if it will work with the hobbywing set up or how well it’s going to work so I was just gonna get the batteries I need. If your saying there no connector at all for battery?

I’m saying I had a choice of connector traxxas or dean’s
Not saying that they all come with a choice
Shop around don’t fall for the first one you see
Here it is
I knew that I had it somewhere

I’m sorry the link doesn’t take you straight there
Just search 2200kv combo and it will give you the option for a T plug or trx plug

JTin: Just remember that the Slash 4x4 (brushed) has different diff gears than the Slash 4x4 VXL (brushless) and you will have to gear up your pinion and spur to compensate (or change your front and rear diffs).
Brushed diff is 12/47 (3.91 gear ratio).
Brushless diff is 13/37 (2.85 gear ratio).

The 2200kv is not designed for 2s, 3s is ok but not perfect, 4s is the sweet spot and really makes that thing come alive
I’ll be getting new batteries this is my first big fix I don’t have to have the biggest and baddest just something to get her bashing again.

Parts came today gonna be going to my local RC store see if they can help me with gearing of diffs

This combo will not work it’s a 1/8 scale motor on a 1/10 scale esc now to contact hobbywing

It can work, I'm assuming the motor has larger bullets? Could change them. But it would be best to get a larger esc. Like the max8
