Anyone use these? Kind of pricey at $40 (***EDIT*** I found others selling 4 for $22! so I updated the link below...) but it looks like these would keep out the dirt, mud, grime even water maybe and protect the bearings...

It’s a solution for a problem that doesn’t exist.
I've been running them. The inners come off pretty easily, but this I rectified this by using small zipties on the axle, just pushed up against the edge of the boot, giving it nowhere to go. They're packed with thick, red mobil-1 grease. If anything, they've eliminated the metal-on-metal drivetrain squeaking. I haven't taken them off since installing them to see if there's any noticeable decrease in dogbone\cup wear.
I use it and install with a zip tie in the axle.
