Hello. I've ordered a Traxxas Rustler 4x4 VXL

This isn't my first rodeo with this sort of chassis. I've had 4 Slash 4x4's.

On all of them, I've upgraded the motor mount with larger bearing.

HOWEVER

Is the Traxxas Slash 4x4 LCG motor mount the same as the Rustler 4x4 VXL one?

I've just noticed:

The Slash 4x4 VXL has the part #TRA7460
The Rustler 4x4 VXL has the part #TRA7460A

Whats the difference? are they interchangeable?

Just different colors. You'll find the same part numbers, with different letters at the end, of many Traxxas parts, as a lot of parts can be purchased in black, gray, red, green, and blue.

So an aftermarket alloy LCG motor mount will fit both my Slash 4x4 and my Rustler 4x4?

When you say larger bearing, do you mean thicker but same inner and outer diameter bearings, or drilling out the bearing area to accept bigger outer diameter bearing, or some other method?

The Hot Racing or Kingheadz Alloy motor mount has a larger bearing. This is what I put on all my Slash 4x4 based vehiclss

No, the kingz head motor mount for slash4x4 lcg will not work with the extended rustler 4x4 battery chassis. If you have the regular rustler 4x4 chassis then it will work. I just went through this when I converted to extended battery chassis.

Slash 4x4 lcg kingz head motor mount originally on my rustler 4x4, but when I switched over that corner had to be modified to work with the extended battery chassis
