Xmaxx Motor/esc suggestions

Hey guys I am looking for motor/esc suggestions. At the moment I have a stock 6s Xmaxx that just had all brand new bearings and service in the drivetrain (from previous owner) and I’m looking to upgrade it to 8s power, I know that I’m going to have to upgrade parts eventually when they break from the extra power but for now I’m
Just looking for a good upgrade power plant.

Also, if anyone has a 6s Xmaxx that has upgraded it to a better system with good luck can you recommend any tips or tricks to get peak performance out of the stock 6s system? Any help I get is greatly appreciated.. I did have a 8s system I was planning to use but I think I want try others .

Mate, I know ReglarGuy has a 6S X-Maxx upgraded to 8S, he has a Castle XLX series ESC and a Leopard motor, but are many combos out there, for example, Hobbywing Max5/Max6 with his motors, or SKYRC Toro Beast ESC too, try to find in the websites and choice what you want:

Take a look on this pages, of course, with an aftermarket motor, you need a motor mount, from WFO or similar, and if you buy a Max5 or Mamba XLX system, you need an ESC plate, measures are different from stock.

I run a Rocket motor 980kv and a Hobbywing Max6, but I say you, there are an amount of variety in the market.

The van body is cool.

Basically you will want to keep the driveline parts from the power up kit. Drive shafts should be the first to break.

I added a Maxx 6 I bought when I upgraded to 8S batteries. I started with an 8S from back when they were new. It works fine with the stock 8S motor and gearing. Shocking.

I also run a Futaba 3PV radio. Never did like the single knob on the Traxxas tx.

You need the spurs and pinion for the diffs (front and rear), the cush drive, the constant velocity dog bones, 8S rated wheels, drive cups, I left you the part list of 8S X-Maxx, there are the references and the exploided views:
