Well, did a little playing around with RV body # 2 and using the MAXX platform makes the whole process even easier..
The bottom edge of the RV has a pressed stamp 90 lip all the way around its perimeter..if you mark out the area that the MAXX nerf bars are you can actually get the RV body to rest in the nerf bars slots like the original MAXX plastic body..the 90 lip has to be rolled over and flattened out to slide into the nerf slot..rolling it and flattening it out makes it thick enough to be a tight fit in the nerf..you could just cut the 90 lip off in those areas but it will be very thin and will probably just rattle around in the nerf slot.. so that's why I chose to roll the edge inward and hammer smooth.

Once the original floor rivets are drilled out the new location for the floor pan will be to just follow below the body line of the RV (can see in one of the pics). Make the angle pieces (not a true 90 if you follow shock tower profile) to rest on shock towers and secure it with the shock screws and the chassis is ready to accept the RV body once the floorpan is in its new location and the center area of the pan is removed to allow for airflow and room for battery change outs.

Wheel arch modifications will be minimal as you can see in the pic with the body resting in the nerf bars...not near as much wheel well mods as the Slash chassis.

Bumpers and wheelie bar don't even need removal to fit inside the RV body same as the Slash bumpers and wheelie bar..

Just FYI for you guys interested..
It's not on the top of my to-do list right now but will be a much easier project using the MAXX platform..

Yes, I'm still working with it but I had a distraction with a couple other rigs that brought my RV2 project to a crawling pace!

Saw what you did there! I know the tires on the right-hand truck are G500 tires, but what about the one on the left?

    Hey Vision,

They are split spoke Jato rims with Trenchers..It's being setup for more of a trail truck than a rock climber..
The G500's went unused for this RV build so I slapped em on my kids rig

    Good timing with that question..lol

I'm wrenchin' on it right now..
Throwing in the 2255 with 2262 BEC kit.

There's a bit of unseen work to get those big boys under there..flipped front and rear bumper brackets and raised the rock slider bars along with a 2 hole adjustment on front and rear shock towers

    Wrenchin's done!

Pic 2 is the type of situation I was getting servo stall..the upgraded one hasn't done it in the same areas I experienced it before

Nice! What's the offset on the rims? Just wondering about any rubbing.

The final outcome and all it took to get there is in the link..lol
    It's alot to explain here

It all worked out in the end. I didn't want to use servo endpoints just from using larger wheels.

Thank you..I eventually got it to where I want it to be...curious to see how the suspension works once I get the hitch installed.

RPM Slash chrome bumper worked out real nice for this rig..both RV and RPM bumper has a very mild radius that mates well together..

Back side of rig was looking a little plain so I had to add a bit more dark cherry to the upper part on the sides of the RV body to do a wrap around on the back end of the RV.
Finished with the paint on the body just have to decide what to do on roof panel..

What? Is that a re-used TRX4 sport decal on the rear? Yes it is..lol So when lights are installed the decals are placed over the original RV holes so my led fixtures will be centered in both tail light decals..

Based on how the paint rolls up the sides of the RV here is how the roof panel will tie-in with everything

Here is what I was trying to explain with the roof panel and body sides meeting with the paint design.

Here is the final piece to the puzzle..front upper bulkhead is finally painted..

The expanded metal was my weapon of choice for design.

All my paint other than base coat were metallics, so this thing looks pretty wicked in full sun

Moving forward with RV body on TRX4 SPORT chassis..after several mock ups with different rim and tire combo's I had decided on 2.2 Methods with a generic tire and rigid foam inserts..the 2.2 Canyon Trails were just too tall for this application.
Once I decided on the Methods I again based my paint color choices around the wheels color palette..so this is the final mock-up of rig with wheels..now it's just a matter of finishing out the build.

Successful day..got chassis and body mated together and took it for a spin..
So far so good just have alot of work left to get to completion..
The TRX4 body post are almost level with each other (or they can be independently adjusted to get close to level) so that made it much easier to mount the inside metal pieces in the RV and line up body post holes..changing back to Sport body will be even quicker than the first RV..4 clips removed and whole RV body comes off as a 1 piece unit..drop Sport body back on and re-clip...off you go!

Have to remove the inside bracket pieces with body post holes to sand and paint and the re-install
This one weighs about half of the first one on 4S so hopefully the little Titan can hold up

Was going to do this on a MAXX chassis as the concept is the same except for body post holes you would need a bracket for shock towers on the MAXX.... but since the first RV is already 4S I just went ahead with the TRX4 direction.. certainly not a crawler but should be a dependable goof-around vehicle

Now that alot of the little detail work list is being completed my load on this RV is really starting to 'lighten up'..

Putting back the windows blacked out is next..chrome rear bumper is en route
It's a guess right now if it will work or not, it's a RPM tubular rear bumper for a Revo

Bellcrank piece made a wonderful grab bar next to the RV door
Had enough offset to absorb the depth of the pressed steel body line.

That's pretty cool! If the Titan doesn't hold up, I've heard lots of good things about the Holmes Crawlmaster motors. I love all the details you're putting on these things!

    Thank you gentlemen!

Don't mind me, I'm just hangin out in the Traxxas Alley documenting a lil build..

Got the inner panels painted and re-installed and everything else blacked out..few more details (mainly rear bumper) and I will call it complete...

Been toying with the idea that if I do another RV of trying to incorporate a slide-out on one side or the other

A slide-out would be really neat! Maybe figure something out with a belt drive and servo winch to make it powered...

They actually make mini linear actuators with different stroke lengths that have a 3 pin RC plug and operate on 6V

Well, here's the part where it gets ugly before it can be pretty...

Son wants to haul his Teton around with Pops..so, more work for me

Might have to break out the bondo on a couple spots with this one..lots of holes to fill that don't line up with anything..had to relocate the floor panel again.

Will put the rear gate on some type of pivot so it can be used as the ramp also..
