Maxx dyed black

Dyed the Maxx as black as I could. Dyed the chassis, ESC, Servo, shock towers, wheel washers, and front chassis brace. Also tried the E-Revo 2.0 tires to see how they’d look.

That look great ! that is alot of work , Man those tires are heavy , Im getting a set of traxxas chevrons on revo wheels , they are light weight

It wasn’t too difficult, it was about three times easier than the E-Revo 2.0. But it looks much better in person. I’ll gear down if I keep the E-Revo tires on there.

Yep, those weigh 10oz on traxxas 3.8" 17mm geodes vs 13.9oz 3.8 talon ext's from the ERBEv2. Hair bit narrower face as well.

I just weighed one of the 3.8 chevrons on geodes that I have to see. I didn't have them on my list yet.

How did you dye the ESC without hurting the stickers/decals? Did you cover them somehow?

I took the plastic off the ESC, so the base is still blue, but you can’t notice the base because it’s deep enough in that the motor and ESC cover it up.

When you say dye do you mean a can of black spray paint or something else?

Guessing he means actual dye. I've seen where people use rit dye. It works with some plastics, just takes time to soak and the water has to be just under boiling I think.
