spur and pinion questions 3.3 revo

I'd like to know what people have found out about messing with the pinions and spur gears .Has anyone found that they have made gains in performance over Traxxas stock set up for top speed or drivability ?Or is stock the best?

Depends on what tire size you have now. And what 2nd gear you have in the transmission. And what specific performance gains you are looking for? You could switch to a larger clutch bell or a smaller spur gear. Or switch to a different second gear. Or is you have the 3.3 engine, put the Losi 3.4 carb on and a different pipe.

I used to change the gearing all the time. Mostly it was because I like tinkering with the truck. I found out that the stock gearing is pretty satisfactory (IMHO) for bashing.

FWIW, I bash with Proline Masher 2000s but I also run my old Truggy wheels/tires every now and again.
