It looks like the current t-maxx does use the same internals as the revo, so you can use the older brushless revo internals at least.

The diff cup with the metal plates in it (3978), the spider gears with the i-bar (5382x). The ring/pinion/outdrives are the same (slash/stampede use smaller od outdrives).

Combine that with some alloy diff case halves and that's about as tough as your going to get without trying to mess around with 1/8th stuff.

Thanks a lot for that info man,yea im going to look into ordering the parts for one and go from there,so are the ring/pinion outdrives the same with all models except for the diameter of the od?

ive seen these going cheap and was wondering if i could use any of the parts or if they would fit the t maxx casing?

I haven't messed with a t-maxx in 15 years. I just looked at the parts explosions to give you a hand.

I know back when I had one, the diff cups with plates and the i-bar didn't exist. Without running alloy diff cases and cups, I couldn't keep a diff alive in my BB maxx to save my life, even with a weak big block. Even with that, they still didn't last long, but I wasn't aware of diff shimming like I am now. May have made a difference since I had alloy cases.

But my BB revo holds up way better than it ever did... after replacing the trans gears with RRP steel anyway. As my revo diffs go out, I rebuild them using the cups/internals I suggested for your tmaxx.

This is what I had back then, was a grey engine 2.5 t-maxx:

All the parts are different now. Guessing they are a lot better.

Be careful trying to use Slash differentials. The brushed model has a different gearing than the brushless model.
Also depending on front or rear, the pinions are different in the Slash.

Why are you wanting to use Slash diffs in a T-maxx?

Would have saved me ordering the wrong outdrives for my stampede when I was upgrading the cups and adding the ibar internals.

    Thanks!

I was happy to find it before changing out my Slash 4x4 rear diff to XO-1 spec. Checked the stock front last night and still in perfect condition.
