    Late to the Game

Been out of the hobby for years and it looks like I am a bit late to the 1/16 rally party, but during covid quarantine I was able to complete a few Traxxas rally roller projects I picked up for myself and my kids.

Upon driving in stock form, it is apparent that the high center of gravity acts as pendulum and rolls the car during turn. I replaced the hefty Titan 12T 550 motors (8.5oz/240g) with a 28mm 5000kv outrunner brushless motor (1.3oz/37g), gear down 15.40 ratio to be conservative (18 pinion/55 spur) and run dual parallel saddle pack 1500mah 2s lipos (2.5oz/75g) to improve agility.

    911

    Cheetah

    Stratos

    Looking good!!!

Tamiya M-chassis bodies fit on the 1/16 platform as well, and others have turned the 4 Tec 2.0 into a rally car.

    Here's my 4 Tec 2.0:

Those are really neat! May I ask, who makes those bodies?

    Thanks.

The 911 and Cheetah are from Sabula Tech (http://oldrc.com/ or https://www.ebay.com/str/sabulatech). I think they are based off old Bolink 1/12th molds.

The Stratos is also 1/12th and from TBG (TEAM BLUE GROOVE https://www.ebay.com/str/teambluegroove).
